England Women's 41 Match Unbeaten Run Faces Canada in Toronto

Goodeveningu, Toronto. On Friday 16 October 2026, England's women put a 41 match unbeaten run on the line at BMO Field, while Rugby Canada bets that a record crowd turns up to watch it fall.

England have not lost a Test in 41 matches. On Friday 16 October, at 7pm Toronto time, the Red Roses walk into BMO Field to face Canada, the team that has already shown the streak can wobble. Amy Cokayne is back at hooker for the occasion, her first Test since the Grand Slam win in Bordeaux in May.

The wobble came on Saturday 19 September at Sandy Park in Exeter. England's winning run, which had reached 39 Tests, ended in a 26 all draw in front of 14,573 people. Canada even had a scrum deep in their own half on the final play and chose to keep the draw rather than twist for the win. OOOOOFU, for anyone who wanted a finish. A dramatic win over New Zealand a week later took the unbeaten run to 41, and now Canada get the rematch on home soil.

Here is where the table gets interesting. Rugby Canada is not only hosting, it is betting. BMO Field holds 28,745, and by RugbyPass's account this is the first return of women's international rugby to Toronto in fifteen years. The previous North American record for a standalone women's rugby match is 11,453, set on 1 August 2025. Ticket sales have already passed it. BBC Sport expects more than 14,000 on the night, and Rugby Canada told the Globe and Mail it estimates over 18,000. GLUWUWULUGU.

The Canadians have their own name for the two game visit: Sophie de Goede called it "this revenge series" in the Globe and Mail. After Toronto, the sides meet again on Friday 23 October at TD Place in Ottawa. Two chances to end an unbeaten run, in front of a home crowd that was not there a year ago.

Would youluwu rather be the champion with 41 Tests of reputation to protect, or the challenger with a stadium and a grudge? Honestlu, the Spirit loves a table where both sides feel they have the bigger stack.

A streak and a grudge share one pitch on Friday. The Spirit sits in the stand and deals to both.
