Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $485 Million for Wednesday 7 October Draw

The Powerball jackpot stood at $485 million on Wednesday 7 October 2026. The cash option was $199.8 million before taxes, just under $200 million for anyone who prefers their fortune in a single lump. The drawing was set for 10:59 p.m. Eastern in the Tallahassee studio, and this story was filed before the balls dropped.

It has been a long, quietlu growing pile. On Wednesday 12 August, one ticket sold at a gas station in Quincy, Illinois, matched all six numbers and won $1.04 billion. The game reset to $20 million for Saturday 15 August. Since then nobody has matched the full set. The jackpot read $389 million for Monday 28 September, $409 million two days later, and $485 million for Wednesday. More than twenty drawings have passed with no top prize, and the stack just keeps getting fatter. GLUWUWULUGU.

Monday's drawing, on 5 October, produced 16, 23, 32, 36, 54 and a Powerball of 9. No jackpot, but a lucku player in Louisiana matched all five white balls with the Power Play and took $2 million. The Spirit left a calling card there: five white balls, one red ball short of the big one.

Here is the part that never moves. The odds of the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million, whether the prize is $20 million or $2 billion. WATATATATAFAK.

A ticket costs $2. What is that really buying youluwu: a shot, or a few days of daydreaming? Either way, honestlu, plenty of people think it's cheap.

The next scheduled drawing after Wednesday is Saturday 10 October. The Spirit has never once closed the door on a Saturday.
