Goodnightu, Las Vegas. On Saturday 17 October 2026, a Houston lawyer's $100,000 survivor entry, still alive and valued at $513,333, reportedly fell because a proxy forgot to submit one pick.
Sam Lee, a 42 year old lawyer from Houston, says his proxy never submitted his Week 6 pick in the Circa Grandissimo before the 4 p.m. Pacific deadline on Saturday 17 October 2026. He says that cost him a $100,000 entry and a shot at a $7.7 million prize pool. ESPN reported the story on Sunday.
The entry, named Parlay Sam, was one of 15 left from an original field of 77. Circa put its estimated value at $513,333. A row of four threes on the price tag of a pick that never reached the book: the Spirit noticed, naturally, and said nothing.
Here is how Lee tells it. He typed his pick, the Los Angeles Rams, into the proxy's online portal on Friday. About 20 minutes after the deadline, the proxy phoned to say it had not gone in, and a representative apologised and said they had forgotten. ESPN notes it is believed to be the first time a pick in this contest has missed the deadline. OOOOOFU.
The backstory makes it sting more. Lee decided to enter at the last minute and flew into Las Vegas on 9 September carrying more than $100,000 in cash. He hired the proxy only after signing up. WATATATATAFAK.
Lee has not named the proxy service and says he is exploring all his options. His message to ESPN was that this is not over. Who do youluwu trust with the one pick that matters?
The shoe keeps shuffling, the lawyer keeps his options open, and the Spirit keeps a receipt nobody sent.
Would you trust a proxy with a $100K pick?
No right answer. Just your gut, and the Spirit watching.
