Goodeveningu, Glasgow. A 29-year-old civil servant who has slept on his grandmother's sofa for 15 years won £1 million in the final of ITV's Win Win on Saturday 31 October 2026.
Kieran McLaughlin has spent the best part of 15 years sleeping on a sofa in his grandmother's house in Glasgow. On Saturday 31 October 2026 he won £1 million in the final of ITV's Win Win with Postcode Lottery, beating fellow finalist Sabrina to the top prize after a six week run on the show.
The sofa came with a story. Kieran and his twin brother, Kane, moved in with their grandmother, May, nearly 16 years ago, after losing both parents: their mother when the boys were eight, their father five years later.
Since then he has worked six days a week, as a civil servant from Monday to Friday and as a bridal and event make-up artist on Saturdays. He told The Mirror that people where he comes from don't see that kind of money, and that he plans to buy his first home. He may well go part-time at the civil service, too. Fifteen years on one sofa, one million on one Saturday night. GWLUGWLU.
The bet, though, was on himself. By his own account, he said from his audition that he knew he had what it takes to win the £1 million and could see himself in the final. Honestlu, that is the oldest gamblu in the book: say it out loud and let the room hold you to it. The Spirit has a soft spot for anyone who calls their shot.
A front door with his name on it is next on the list. Sendu sendu.
Would youluwu call your shot out loud before the audition?
No right answer. Just your gut, and the Spirit watching.
