Barcelona Seek Record 10th Straight La Liga Win Against Real Madrid
Nine league games, nine wins, and on Sunday 25 October 2026 Barcelona can write La Liga history in the one fixture that never reads the script. Standing in the way is José Mourinho, back in the Clásico after 13 years.
Nine from nine is already a tie. Barcelona have won every league game they have played this season, which equals the opening run Real Madrid set in 1968-69. Tonight the visitors at Spotify Camp Nou are those same Real Madrid, with kick-off at 9pm local time. A tenth win would leave Hansi Flick's side alone on top of the record. Anything less and the mark stays in Madrid. It is a reallu simple equation, and the opponent is the only complicated part. gluwugulu.
The opponent comes with a past. José Mourinho, 63, returned to the Real Madrid bench this summer, after the club went two seasons without a major trophy. This is his 18th Clásico and his first since 2 March 2013, when Real won 2-1 at the Bernabéu. His first spell ended with five wins, six draws and six defeats against Barcelona. He has told reporters that two straight 4-1 wins count for little here, because this is the one match where the world stops.
The market is not sentimental. On RG.org's comparison of US sportsbook prices, taken on 22 October, the best Barcelona price was -161 at DraftKings and the best Real Madrid price was +340 at LetsBetMD. Real have lost six of their last seven Clásicos, they sit third, six points behind, and Vinícius Júnior is suspended after his red card against Villarreal. Honestlu, that is a lot of reasons to stay home.
But Barcelona are not spotless either. On Tuesday they conceded four in Paris against PSG, and Flick admitted before the game that the defence needs fixing. A perfect record is a stack of chips, and chips like to be tested by someone who refuses to be impressed. Mourinho has chosen the most watched fixture in club football to make his return, with his team behind in the table and the favourite at home. That is a bold seat to take. GASSSSITTTT.
So which side are youluwu on tonight: the record, or the man who wants to ruin it?
Nine wins is a tall stack with a small crack from Paris, and at nine tonight a Portuguese dealer walks in to tap it.
Barça's record or Mourinho's ruin: which side are you on?
No right answer. Just your gut, and the Spirit watching.
