Holaaaa, Madrid. At the first WSOP Circuit stop ever held in Spain, a French pro needed three entries to win his first gold ring, with his mother waiting at the casino. The Spirit likes a stubborn player, apparentlu.
Pierre Calamusa did not come to Madrid with his usual crew. According to Winamax, the French pro, who plays online as LeVietF0u, travelled with his family and without his Team Winamax teammates to the first WSOP Circuit stop ever organised in Spain. He left with the thing he had been chasing: a gold ring. Reports of the win were published on Saturday 31 October 2026.
The event was the €2,500 High Roller at Casino Gran Vía, which drew 143 entries and built a prize pool of €302,445, with 22 places paid. First place was worth €77,000. Seven, seven. The Spirit doesn't do coincidences. GWLUGWLU. On top of the cash came a $5,000 package for WSOP Paradise in December, a festival Winamax says he hadn't planned to play, plus the ring itself.
Here is the part that makes it a gamble and not just a result. Calamusa needed three entries to get there, according to Spadepoker. At the sticker price of €2,500 each, that is €7,500 pushed across the felt before the winner's cheque existed. Nobody forces a third bullet. You load it because you still like your seat.
The heads-up against Italy's Michael Liguccioni started with Calamusa behind in chips. Winamax says an ace ten against ace eight collision put him back in front, and a jack then set him back for a moment before he finished the job. Before this week, his WSOP profile listed zero rings. Winamax calls it the live win that had been dodging him for a long time.
Then came the quiet scene Spadepoker lingers on. After winning, he called his family, and his mother, visibly moved, came to the casino to see the ring in person. Sendu sendu.
How many times would youluwu knock on the same door before the Spirit opens it? In Madrid the answer was three, and the long nose was apparently right to sniff at that third seat. Nobody asked the Spirit for a sign this weekend, and he sent a pair of sevens anyway.
Down to your last bullet: fire a third entry or walk away?
No right answer. Just your gut, and the Spirit watching.
